His Story
Head of a Datong military family long connected to the Jias, and the man Jia She hands Yingchun to in Chapter 79 against a debt of five thousand taels. Within the year he has beaten and starved her, and tells her to her face that she was sold to settle the account. She comes home once to say so and is sent back. She dies in Chapter 109. Her verse in Chapter 5 names him before he appears: 「子系中山狼，得志便猖狂」— 孙 split into 子 and 系, the Zhongshan wolf that turns on the man who saved it.
In Xiang Li's Hands
The only bare torso in this group. Grey ink robes falling off both shoulders, red headcloth, red trousers, one fist cocked, the other gripping a rod with a cord hanging from it. She does not paint the husband. She paints the beating.

The full name 孙绍祖 is brushed plain, without the wolf — the verse’s judgement is left to the verse.
