Külüg Khan — Emperor Wuzong of Yuan
元武宗
“Four years of printing money to pay for titles”
A general from the steppe frontier brought south by a coup against the dowager's candidate. He handed out honors and paper currency on a scale that produced serious inflation, and died at thirty. He had agreed that the throne would pass to his brother and then back to his own sons; only the first half happened.
That broken agreement is behind most of the coups of the following twenty years.
His empress Zhenge has a painting of her own.
The empress of this reign
Painted on silk in gemstone mineral pigments by Xiang Li.
