“Took the throne from the men who had just killed his cousin, then executed them”
A prince of the northern frontier who accepted the assassins' offer of the throne and put them to death within months. His five years were quiet by the standards of the period; when he died at Shangdu a war of succession broke out immediately.
He was never given a temple name, because the side that won that war did not recognize him.
His empress Babukhan briefly served as regent in 1328, in the weeks between his death and the coup.
