宋恭帝

“Surrendered at five, became a Tibetan monk, and was executed at fifty-two”

The grand dowager surrendered Lin'an in his name in 1276. He was taken to Dadu, given a title, and eventually sent to Tibet, where he became a Buddhist monk and translator of some standing. He was ordered to die in 1323, apparently over a poem.

It is the strangest afterlife of any deposed Chinese emperor.

The empresses of the last Song reigns are on the Southern Song silk.
