“The Warrant at the Gate”
His Story
An officer of the Embroidered Jackets Guard. In Chapter 105 he arrives at the Ning-guo house with a warrant, seals the gates and sets his men stripping the rooms, pressing the search hard and enjoying it, until a prince arrives with the Emperor’s amended orders and reins him in. He is the face of the confiscation — the moment the Jia household stops being protected by rank.
In Xiang Li's Hands
Frontal, planted, filling the sheet: crimson robe, winged black cap, a rank badge with a gold beast on it, a rolled warrant clamped under one arm and the other hand thrown open and empty. Nothing behind him at all. The bare paper stands in for the house he has come to seal.

Inscribed 赵堂官, Director Zhao — the office rather than the man, with the personal name 全 nowhere on the sheet.
