Join us for the opening reception of an exhibition by Xiang Li at the Jean McDonough Arts Center (JMAC) on Wednesday, May 21, from 6:00–8:00 PM.
This exhibition will be on view for two weeks (May 13 to May 24, 2026), and visitors are welcome to explore the work during JMAC’s regular hours:
JMAC Public Hours
- Wednesday–Friday: 12:00–6:00 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: 12:00–5:00 PM
During the opening reception, Xiang Li and her team will host a relaxed “walk and talk” experience, inviting guests to move through the space together while learning about the history, stories, and making of the artwork.
The evening will include:
- A guided walk-and-talk introducing the Chinese Empresses Collection, highlighting key empresses, historical context, and artistic process
- A preview of new works featuring pandas and Chinese horoscopes, designed to engage children, teens, and families
- Time for questions and conversation throughout the event
Multisensory elements will be woven into the experience, including:
- A TV screen showing behind-the-scenes clips and footage from past exhibitions
- Hands-on coloring tables with markers and crayons for all ages
- Chinese tea tasting, featuring traditional and floral teas inspired by the art and the history of tea in China (guests may enjoy tea during the event or take samples home)
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Come experience art in a playful, relaxing, and immersive way.
